Dr. Szalewski spent most of his life in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biology. He completed medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center before crossing into Iowa to complete his Internal Medicine residency and subsequent Allergy and Immunology fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has always had a love for medicine and dreamed of a career in Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Szalewski met his wife, Lindsey, an elementary school teacher, in college, and they have three children who keep them very busy at home. He is a die-hard Husker and loves attending Nebraska sporting events. Outside of work and family life, his hobbies include fishing and spending time outdoors, playing guitar, and exploring his love of food.
